Everyone Report to the Dance Floor!
The dance floor is where the most precious and fun moments of your special day may occur, such as your first dance with your significant other or you and your bridal party breaking it down to your favorite song! Are you stuck on where you want to put your dance floor for your wedding? Here are a few pointers that might help you decide where you want to get the party started!
Keep the DJ close to the dance floor! You don’t want the speakers to be to close to the seating tables and cause the guests to have to yell to have conversation with each other. Also, keeping the DJ close will allow the guests to give requests and maybe give a toast or two… we all know how fun that can get!
Keep the dance floor tight- too much empty space on a dance floor can cause people to feel uncomfortable or can make the energy feel awkward :P The closer people are together to higher the energy! Keep your guests dancing all night long!
Don’t make the dance floor the crossroads. Meaning, place it somewhere where guests do not have to cross it to get to the bar, restroom or a buffet. This can cause people to feel uncomfortable or it can break up the dancing! No one wants that!
Try and place the dance floor where everyone in the reception area can see it from any point in the room. It is the center of attention- also keep things such as your photo booths or bar in the same room as your dance floor! Whenever these activities are kept separate it can lead to people not returning to the dance floor or never make it there at all!
If your wedding is outside, try not to place the dance floor in direct sunlight. We all know that dancing can get people hot, especially wearing tuxedo’s and long dresses- no need to add extra heat! Make sure you have the appropriate lighting, it can make or break an ambiance!
Hopefully these dance floor tips help you get your party started!
